I always put off being productive until the weekend. But then when the weekend comes, I generally don't accomplish much. I'm finishing up in 3 months, and I'm a bit concerned that I'll get all my ducks in a row before we move. I have to finish up all the details and requirements and forms for my residency. Then I have to get everything in line with the Washington board, take my exam, get hospital privileges, move, get my finances in order, etc. etc. etc.
But all I want to do is play guitar hero, watch TV, ride my bike, and read scifi novels.
I did get my bike back from the shop. I got a tuneup and I now think it rides better than the day I bought it. I took it out for a spin around downtown and San Marco. It's kind of bulky for riding any distance, and I'd like to get a road bike a some point.
I'm not sure about the whole spandex-clad $2000 bike thing. I'm sure its fun, and I'd like to go farther and faster. You look like a dork, but I am a dork. It's a very doctorly thing to do. But all the road cyclists seem about 15 years older than me. At a stoplight, I was next to a surgeon this morning. I can't remember if he's an orthopedist or a neurosurgeon, but I've seen him around. And I'm sure his bike was more than $2000. I'd be afraid of breaking something that costly. I like cruising over potholes, sailing over glass on my tough commuter bike.
